Terms of Service
Last updated October 19, 2026
These terms govern your use of CoreRift Gate (“the gate”), a service of Core Rift LLC, a Virginia limited liability company doing business as Core Rift Gate (“Core Rift LLC”, “we”, “us”). By signing in to the gate or connecting a site to it, you agree to them. If you use the gate for a company or other organization, you confirm you can bind it to these terms, and “you” includes that organization.
1. What the gate does
The gate gives websites pre-launch access control: beta-access codes that let invited people sign in to a site, interest lists of people who ask to be told when a site opens, test-account codes for seeing a site the way a customer does, and an admin dashboard where a site can be shared with other people. Each site connects to the gate with its own API key and keeps its own accounts and sign-in.
2. Accounts and access
- You sign in with a Google account. You must be at least 18.
- A site's owners decide who else can manage it and with which role. Owners are responsible for everyone they share a site with and for removing access that is no longer needed.
- Keep your Google account and each site's API key secure. An API key is shown once; anyone holding it can act for that site. Rotate a key you think has leaked. You are responsible for activity under your account and your keys.
3. Your sites and the people who use them
- Data your site sends to the gate, such as interest-list emails, feature picks, notes, and the email addresses beta codes are tied to, is “Site Data”. You own it. We process it only to run the gate for you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- You are responsible for having the right to collect Site Data and send it to us, for telling your visitors how you use it (including that you use a service like the gate), and for honoring their requests about it. Don't send us sensitive information such as health, financial-account or government ID details.
- You decide who gets a beta code and what your site lets them do. Test-account codes sign in to your site as a made-up account; what that account can reach on your site is up to your site.
- Don't use interest lists to send messages people didn't ask for.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use the gate to break the law or anyone's rights, and don't:
- try to reach data or sites that aren't shared with you, or test, probe or overload the gate's security or limits without our written permission;
- guess or brute-force codes or keys, or help anyone else do so;
- resell or sublicense the gate, or use it to build a competing service from its code or content;
- send malware or content that is unlawful, deceptive or infringing.
5. Fees
The gate is currently free. If we introduce paid plans, we will tell site owners at least 30 days before any charge applies, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep the gate available but don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Sites should be built to fail closed: if the gate can't be reached, refuse beta sign-ins rather than letting people in. We may change, add or remove features. If we stop offering the gate, we will give at least 30 days' notice so you can export your interest lists.
7. Ending use
You can stop using the gate at any time. Deleting a site deletes its codes and interest list. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms or puts the gate, its users or others at risk; where reasonable we will tell you first and give you a chance to export your data.
8. Disclaimers
The gate is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Core Rift LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of the gate. Our total liability for any claim about the gate is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim or US $100.
10. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Core Rift LLC against claims by third parties arising from your sites, your Site Data, or your breach of these terms, including claims by your sites' visitors and users.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will post it here and tell site owners at least 30 days before it takes effect. Using the gate after that means you accept the updated terms.
